Skylights are also known as rooflights. A structure or window which allows light to permit inside a building usually made with laminated and toughen glass for daylighting and ventilation purposes. Certain studies show that daylight affects physiological and psychological wellbeing, which can in-turn increase productivity.
Why skylights?
- As mentioned earlier, the main benefit is that they let natural light into your space. Natural light also is known to improve mood and performance at work. During winter, you can save on heating costs with sunlight.
- If it’s a skylight window, it will let in fresh air and with cross ventilation in stuffy rooms it also freshens up air in the air and cools down the room without the AC.
- Because skylights naturally help in heating up your space and because of cross ventilation it also cools your space. Both can help you cut down on energy costs provided you install a leakproof and laminated glass skylight.
- Skylights can also make the space look more spacious. In addition to that, you can enjoy the moonlit starry night as well as the ever-beautiful nature during the day.
A few types of skylights we use:
Toughened glass: A strong type of glass which is also known as safety glass. And when it breaks, it breaks into granulated fragments. This helps reduce the risk of injury.
Laminated glass: A type of glass that combines two or more sheets of float glass with one or more interlayers. Any damage occurs, the interlayer holds any particles thus preventing from falling to the ground. This helps in reducing the risk of injury even more.
